Firmware · Electrical design · PCB assembly

Your board, built and booting.

NovaHeap Technologies designs electronics and writes firmware in McKinney, Texas. PCB assembly runs at our facility in India. Both teams work from the same files and the same schedule, so the board you receive already runs your code.

Three disciplines. One team.

Most boards fail at the seams between design, firmware, and assembly. We keep all three in one team, so nothing is thrown over a wall.

Firmware development

Bare-metal and RTOS firmware for STM32, Nordic nRF, NXP, and TI parts. Drivers, communication stacks, bootloaders, secure boot, and OTA updates, written against the hardware on our bench.

Firmware services

Electrical design

Schematic capture and PCB layout done with the assembly line in mind. Part selection, power, signal integrity, and DFM review before the first build, not after it.

Electrical design

PCB assembly

SMT assembly at our facility in India, built from the same released files the engineering team works from. Boards come back to the engineers who designed them for bring-up.

The two-site model

Designed in Texas. Built in India. One integrated team.

Engineering, firmware, electrical design, and project support are in McKinney. Assembly is at our facility in India. You deal with one team, and both sites read the same repository, BOM, and schedule.

  • One point of contact

You work with the engineers in McKinney from the first design review to bring-up. There is no hand-off to a separate contract manufacturer.

  • Engineering in McKinney, Texas

Schematic, layout, firmware, and project support happen here, on US Central time, with the hardware on the bench.

  • Assembly at our facility in India

The assembly team builds from the released revision, the same BOM, and the same schedule. Changes on either side show up in one place.

  • Hardware and firmware designed together

The firmware plan is reviewed before the board is routed, and the layout is reviewed for how it will be flashed and tested.

How a project runs

From design review to a board that boots.

Five steps, one team. Each step is done by people who will still be on the project at the next one.

  1. 01

    Design review

Requirements, part risks, and the test plan are reviewed before anything is drawn.

  2. 02

    Electrical design

Schematic and layout in McKinney, checked for manufacturability against the line that will build it.

  3. 03

    Firmware

Drivers, stacks, and application code developed on dev kits in parallel, then on the first article.

  4. 04

    Assembly in India

Boards built at our facility in India from the released files. Same BOM, same revision, same schedule.

  5. 05

    Bring-up and test

We flash, test, and debug on the real hardware and fix what the first spin reveals.

Have a board to build?

Send a schematic, Gerbers, a BOM, or a one-paragraph description. You will hear back from an engineer, not a sales queue.
